Lainey Watson is a Northern Irish artist based in Berlin, where she has lived since the mid-1980s.
She is a self-taught artist, who has always had a passion for painting and drawing. In the 1980s and 1990s her work was shown in different restaurants in West Berlin. When the Berlin Wall came down, and the reunification of East and West began, her life took a different direction and she has only recently started exhibiting her work again. This year she started displaying her work at the Berliner Kunstmarkt – at the Museumsinsel.
Many of her paintings portray County Antrim, in Northern Ireland where she grew up. Her work has a very wide-ranging style and she uses various mixed media, methods and techniques.
